Join NINA VOLK for an immersive workshop that explores the delicate balance between looseness and realism in watercolor painting.
This workshop is designed for artists of all skill levels (preferably with basic knowledge of watercolor) who wish to capture the essence of their subjects with a fresh and spontaneous approach.
WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:
TECHNIQUES FOR LOOSE PAINTING:
Learn how to utilise water, exploit paint qualities, tonal values and broad brushstrokes with minimal details to create vibrant and dynamic paintings.
CAPTURING REALISM:
Discover how to maintain a sense of the subject authenticity while embracing a loose painting style, how to cull what is not important and how to make an impression of the things kept in the painting.
PRACTICAL EXERCISES:
Engage in hands-on exercises that will help you improve your skills and confidence and release you from the fear of water and painting tight. PERSONAL FEEDBACK:
Receive individual guidance and feedback from Nina to help you refine your techniques.
WORKSHOP DAY 2: ETHEREAL LIGHT IN WATERCOLOR
Experience the magic of capturing ethereal light in your watercolor paintings with NINA VOLK. This workshop focuses on creating luminous and atmospheric scenes that evoke a sense of wonder and tranquility.

UNDERSTANDING LIGHT:
Learn the principles of light and how it interacts with different surfaces and colours.
CREATING ATMOSPHERE:
Explore techniques for creating soft, glowing effects that enhance the mood of your painting.
GUIDED PRACTICE:
Participate in a guided practice session where Nina will demonstrate and assist you in applying 3 KEY techniques to achieve sense of light on paper.

About Nina:
Nina Volk is an award-winning Australian watercolour artist known for blending traditional techniques with contemporary expression. After 8 years of art school, she completed a BA in Economics and Management in Civil Engineering (2004) and a BA in Architecture from the University of Melbourne (2015), receiving the Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
With a background in architecture and fashion, Nina became a full-time artist in 2021, launching a successful YouTube channel (35K+ subscribers) and Patreon (1000+ supporters). Her work has since gained national and international recognition.
