Through the Lens

Through the Lens is the 2025 theme of the much-loved annual exhibition by the Deniliquin Camera Club, showcasing the creativity, talent and diverse perspectives of local photographers. 

This year, the exhibition also features a special guest display: the Southern Sky Astrophotography exhibition, including the awe-inspiring winners of the David Malin Awards.

Presented by the Central West Astronomical Society as part of AstroFest and sponsored by CSIRO Space and Astronomy, these photographs continue a long tradition of sky observation through the camera lens—one that dates back to the 1870s at Sydney Observatory, where Henry Chamberlain Russell first photographed the stars.

From stories carved into rock by the Gadigal people to high-tech images of deep space, Through the Lens invites you to witness the beauty of both Earth and sky through a photographer’s eye.
