Creative Jewellery Workshop with Skye Bragg

Creative Jewellery Workshop with Skye Bragg

13th and 14th September

ERAS Sunday School

Join experienced silversmith Skye Bragg for a hands-on jewellery-making workshop where you'll design and create your own sterling silver jewellery across two days. Learn foundational silversmithing techniques, explore texture and form, and craft meaningful pieces that reflect your personal style.

Perfect for beginners and creative explorers — no prior experience needed.

What You’ll Make
  • A pair of sterling silver earrings and/or a pendant (Saturday)

  • A custom-made sterling silver ring (Sunday)

You’ll work with a 4cm x 5cm sterling silver sheet and sterling silver wire, with the option to incorporate copper for contrast and detail.

What You’ll Learn

Throughout the weekend, you'll be introduced to traditional jewellery-making techniques, including:

  • Saw piercing

  • Annealing (softening metal with heat)

  • Filing and sanding

  • Texturing (using hammers, stamps and punches)

  • Drilling

  • Soldering

  • Doming and forming

  • Ring measuring and forming

  • Making earring wires

  • Finishing and polishing

Templates (circle, oval, heart, organic shapes) will be available, along with texture tools and alphabet stamps for personalising your designs.

The workshop begins with a group design discussion — no need to arrive with a set plan. Skye will guide you through the creative process, helping you turn your ideas into wearable art. You’ll go home with a selection of handcrafted silver jewellery — typically a ring and either a pendant or earrings (or both, depending on time).

Workshop Format

Day 1 – Saturday 13 September (10am–4pm):
Design and create earrings and/or a pendant using sterling silver and copper. Focus on shaping, surface design, and soldering techniques.

Day 2 – Sunday 14 September (9am–12pm):
Learn to measure, form, and texture a sterling silver ring. View sample designs (e.g. spinner ring, Russian wedding band) and create your own fitted ring from scratch.

What to Bring

  • All tools and materials are provided

  • Aprons are supplied

  • Please wear closed-toe shoes for safety
